The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Department of Energy (DOE) named Pella Corporation the 2008 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Award for the Product Manufacturer - Windows category for Pella's outstanding contribution to reducing the greenhouse gas emissions by manufacturers and helping to educate consumers about those products. Governor`s Environmental Award

Iowa Governor honors Pella Corporation as environmental leader

The 2007 Governor's Environmental Excellence Award given by Iowa Governor Chet Culver and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) recognizes Pella for its leadership in waste management by recycling wood generated in manufacturing Pella windows and doors, rather than incinerating it or sending it to the landfill.

"Our commitment to environmental stewardship is firmly rooted in our culture, just as it has been since our company was founded in 1925," Corporate Environmental Manager Jim Nieboer said. "Pella Corporation is honored to be recognized for our voluntary efforts in using and recycling resources-like wood-responsibly."

"Promise to the Earth" award

Pella's environmental initiative s have been nationally recognized with the "Promise to the Earth' award sponsored by the National Arbor Day Foundation and the Hammer Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in recognition of hazardous chemical release reductions.

As a member of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), Pella encourages the use of the LEEDR certification process and offers products that can contribute to more than 20 of 69 possible points.
